I write because I am angry at the world. I write because I am overwhelmed by the beauty in it. I write when I am shocked to hear my own voice. I write because it speaks for versions of me that don’t exist anymore. I write to please. I write to instigate. I write to record, to collect, and to remember. I write to grow and to inspire.
I’m June Kelly, a creative nonfiction writer captivated by the emotional truth that emerges from the mundane. I write from lived experience, but I am particularly interested in exploring how memory can reshape truth. My work blurs the boundary between observation and reflection, seeking meaning in what is felt rather than what we can easily explain.
